🍢 A Pinup Tribute to an Alton Institution

Fast Eddie’s Bon Air lettering and the Alton, Illinois reference firmly connect the design to its river-town home.

🍺 Where Alton Comes to Eat, Listen, and Celebrate

Fast Eddie’s Bon Air stands at 1530 East Fourth Street in Alton, Illinois, near the Mississippi River and the greater St. Louis region. Its story began in 1921, when Anheuser-Busch constructed the original Bon Air tavern. After decades under the Balaco family, Eddie “Fast Eddie” Sholar Sr. purchased the establishment in 1981 and expanded it from a modest neighborhood bar into a major regional destination. The venue became known for live music, large crowds, an expansive patio, vintage beer memorabilia, and an inexpensive food counter built around burgers, bratwurst, shrimp, kabobs, and the signature Big Elwood on a Stick. Its combination of roadhouse energy and old-school beer culture has made it a familiar rite of passage for generations of area patrons. Fast Eddie’s has also received an Enjoy Illinois “Delicious Destination” designation, recognizing its place within the state’s food culture. Despite its scale, the bar retains the lively, communal spirit of a classic river-town watering hole.

🎶 Built for Road Trips and Barroom Memories

The Fast Eddies Bon Air Shirt “Hot Chicks On A Stick” suits Alton regulars, St. Louis-area travelers, live-music crowds, and collectors of memorable bar graphics. It belongs at casual gatherings, weekend road trips, concerts, and cookouts—especially when the conversation turns to legendary local hangouts, inexpensive skewers, and nights beside the Mississippi.
